Pride in our Community – Improvements in your Area (Update: Castlefields Way, Aqueduct )
Telford & Wrekin Council will shortly be working in your area as part of their ‘Pride in Our Community’ investment programme. Over the next three years an additional £45 million will be invested into improving the Borough’s roads, pavements, street lights and structures. This includes the installation of energy efficient streetlights and road signs, a programme of road lining improvement as well as additional investment in repairing local roads and paths and environmental maintenance.
Telford & Wrekin Council had planned to start reconstruction work in Castlefields Way on the 07th August with a road closure in place for the duration of the scheme. However, unexpected issues with a gas pipe mean that until engineers can come and assess the site, work has been postponed for 7 days, the road will now be reopened.
The scheme is now planned for the 14th August – 01st September, the work is to be completed by their principal contractor Telford & Wrekin Services Ltd who will be using their specialist sub-contractor Tarmac Ltd. The road will be closed in 3 different sections so that access to properties can be maintained throughout:
Section 1: Castlefields Roundabout to Shutfield Road (14th – 21st August)
Section 2: Shutfield Road to Majestic Way (21st – 28th August)
Section 3: Majestic Way to Southall Road (28th Aug – 01st Sept)
Please find above a revised traffic management plan for the scheme.
