Community Chest
The Parish Council created a budget item with £29,700 to enable grants to be made from the “Community Chest”. Non-profit organisations that function in the Great Dawley Parish area, were to apply by 27th May 2011.
The Applications received are below:
The Bank Community Group – £770 towards publicity, coach trip, Easter meal, Dawley Bank Day music hire, Christmas Party and Queens Jubilee Street Party.
St Leonard’s Church – £5,402 towards hall/lobby improvements, external doors/entrances improvements, gents toilets improvements, radiator refurbishment, lobby flooring and project management costs.
Dawley Social Club – £11,000 towards replacement roof (concert room), fire door frame (concert room), windows/frames (general), Internal decoration/carpets and upholster furniture
Chairs and Spares – £550 towards a new PC & Software at Meeting Point House
West Telford Visually Impaired People (VIP) Group – £280 towards trips to Welshpool, Southport, Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth.
Dawley Bank Horticultural Society – £5,000 towards Kazumaloo Eco Allotment Toilet
AFC Telford Utd in Partnership with Phoenix Sports & Science College – £3,150 towards coaching and participation Awards for Young People
Phoenix School – Dawley Respect & Unity through Music – £7,600 towards Staffing and musical instruments
Supporters of Music at Abraham Darby Academy – £5,000 towards musical instruments
