Chris, was brought up in Edgbaston in Birmingham and on leaving Boarding School in 1961 Chris served an apprenticeship at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and went on to Pershore College of Horticulture to study horticulture and market gardening.  He then took on various roles in the horticultural spectrum to gain experience.  During this period he met and married Judith in 1968 and they settled in Ludlow.

In January 1972 Chris joined Her Majesty’s Armed Forces serving for 22 years retiring in January 1994 where they moved and settled down in Telford.  Chris followed on with a career at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford commencing in March 1994 in an operational role until retirement in April 2010.  Whilst at Cosford, Chris gained Chartered status as a health and safety practitioner and also qualified as a Registered European Occupational Safety and Health Manager.

Chris also qualified in Environmental Management during this period.
Chris for many years was Chair of Governors at Hollinswood Infant and Nursery School.
Chris and Judy have two sons and seven grandchildren.

Chris is also a Parish Councillor for Hollinswood & Randlay and Stirchley and Brookside and has been for many years.  Chris is chair of South Telford Rights of Way Partnership (STROWP) and has been for a number of years and is also an active member of the Friends of Telford Town Park and Randlay Valley.
When Chris finds time to relax he loves nothing better than walking designated historical walks within the Borough, especially around Ironbridge and spending time on his allotment.’
