Sheltered Housing Schemes
There are currently seven sheltered housing locations in Dawley provided by the Wrekin Housing Trust, Sanctuary Housing and Anchor, providing low-level support services to help older people usually over 60 years of age.
In some circumstances, sheltered housing is available to disabled people under the age of 60 depending on their individual needs.
The Wrekin Housing Trust has over 30 sheltered housing schemes across Telford and Newport. These are groups of flats or bungalows with:
- a scheme manager service
- a 24 hour emergency call system with a visiting response service if needed
- a daily call to make sure you have no problems
- communal facilities, including tenants’ lounge, laundry and social activities
