We are excited to share with you our summer sports programme that children (and adults!) of the local area can take part in instructor led activities for FREE! This is all part of the Let’s Get Telford Active campaign.
Sessions starting next week at Dawley Park include tennis, crown green bowling and outdoor gym sessions, dance taster sessions at the Deighton Dance studio, cricket at both Doseley Road Playing Field and St Leonards Field and bike ability sessions both at Dawley Cof E school and Old Park Primary School.
Specialist coaches will be on hand to help beginners or coach those who are more experienced. The programme includes something for all ages to try something new and encourage a longer term love for being active.
The Let’s Get Telford Active campaign is about getting people to be active together, it’s more fun, people can support and encourage each other while creating fun memories and building a healthy lifestyle.”
The free sessions have been made possible through a £4,000 grant from Telford & Wrekin Council as part of the Telford Get Active programme, aimed at providing a fun and friendly way for people to develop a love for activity if they are out of practice – or even for people to get active for the first time.
Match funding has also been provided with £500 from Great Dawley Town Council and £500 from the Friends of Dawley Park. All the sessions are free, but registration is required. If you would like to register please click on the sports below.
