Telford Big Sing

About the Group

Each session is open to all and self-contained although if you attend regularly you will find that I revisit songs. I’m a member of the Natural Voice Practitioners’ Network. We believe that singing is everyone’s birthright and we are committed to teaching styles that are accepting and inclusive of all, regardless of musical experience and ability. There’s more information on http://www.naturalvoice.net/

The Big Sing runs once a month from 2 – 5 pm. Session fee is £12 on the door, £10 in advance, concessions available. Fee includes refreshments

I teach songs from round the world, from different cultures and sometimes in other languages. I teach everything by ear, so you don’t need to be able to read music, and very quickly we’ll be singing in harmony. I choose songs that are beautiful, delightful, powerful, and that I love.

Most participants attend regularly.

I recently asked people who sing with me about the benefits:

  • I enjoy being with the people here. We are all so enthusiastic and friendly. I really am having fun and leave the session happy and uplifted DD
  • Enjoy singing most of all, but a big plus is the getting together with other people which makes a very positive atmosphere MJ
  • Exhilarating, stretches the mind. Friendships, expression, growth MT
  • Exhilaration – feel-good factor, wakens me up inside EB
  • Beautiful harmony in 10 minutes – so happy to be part of a group LP
  • Good for memory and listening, good for health e.g. breathing. We have learned such a wonderful variety of songs. I love to hear the harmonies of part songs. Everyone has a smile and a laugh. It’s great to meet new people DA
  • I love harmonies. Actions are good when we sing. Variety is keeping us on our toes CJ
  • The wonderful feeling of singing together. The harmonies make me feel so good inside! JL
  • Me time, fun and laughter, ‘shiver down the spine’ moments, new circle of friends, ideas I can use. Enjoy singing without a public performance MD
  • Because I love to sing and can forget any problems I have while I’m singing. Fun way of learning. Helps memory. Meet people you would not meet otherwise GB

How to Get in Touch

It is best to contact me by phone or email although it’s also possible to turn up. We are not likely to run out of space, but knowing numbers in advance helps with setting up the room, providing refreshments and handouts.
