The Royal British Legion is holding a family fun day with lots of entertainment to celebrate their 90th anniversary in Telford Town Park on the 15th May 2011.

There will be lots of entertainment for all ages and interests.

It starts at 11.00am with the Birmingham Gatka Troop Sikh Band and follows with rich and varied musical entertainment including The British Imperial Military Band, Jive Aces, The Polka Dot Dolls, The Funky Back Swing & Dance Ensemble, The Oxford Gargoyles and The Jive Aces.

There will be a children’s entertainment area, an RAF helicopter, Civil War re-enactments, a display of historic military vehicles, motor cycles from The Royal British Legion Riders Branch, a genuine 1940s NAAFI van as well as plenty of food and drink stalls.

At 4.30pm, The British Imperial Military Band will perform a Beat Retreat, with the Standards of The Royal British Legion in attendance. The show will end at 4.50pm, with Jump 4 Heroes (The Royal British Legion Extreme Human Flight team) leaping out of the sky and trailing poppies!

There will also be a sponsored Poppy Walk around the park, see here for details.

Entry to the park is free, although donations to the Legion on the day are most welcome.
