The new Dawley Hub was officially opened by the High Sheriff of Shropshire Trevor Hugh-Jones in front of representatives and members of the public on the 26th November 2010. It is a joint initiative of Telford and Wrekin Council, Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, Telford College of Arts and the Dawley Regeneration Partnership.
It is designed to keep people up to date with the multi-million pound regeneration of Dawley, allowing access and advice on all matters relating to the Partnership.
The Hub offers internet facilities and is a place where people will be able to hold business meetings as it is hoped that a Dawley Chamber of Trade will go on to benefit local businesses. You can also purchase local books relating to the heritage of Dawley at the Hub.
The Hub will be staffed by business students from Telford College of Arts and Technology (TCAT) which will give them valuable work experience. Students also helped refurbish the Hub which helped develop their practical and vocational skills.
The hub will run for an initial two year period and is currently only open on a Friday, though it will be open more days a week after the New Year.
