Multi million pound regeneration plans under spotlight
Plans for phase one of the multi-million pound regeneration of Dawley and Malinslee will come under the public spotlight at a drop in session.
The session will take place at The Old Rest Rooms at Dawley House on September 14 between 4.30-7pm.
Telford & Wrekin Council officers and representatives of the contractor Birse Civils will both be on hand to answer questions and listen to the views of residents at the event.
The council will be building a new Sports and Learning Community to replace the current Phoenix School at Paddock Mount and the earthworks are taking place over the next year to prepare the site for construction.
This development will also include housing and retail units and will form a catalyst for the broader regeneration of Dawley High Street and town centre.
The Sports and Learning Community and High Street regeneration form part of Telford & Wrekin Council’s Borough Towns Initiative programme to transform key historic centres.
Councillor Eric Carter, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “We are looking forward to getting feedback from local residents on our plans for the first phase of the regeneration of Dawley and Malinslee.
“It is a major project and one we view as extremely important in terms of the wider social and economic regeneration of the borough.
“We hope that local residents will take advantage of the opportunity to come and meet council officers and contractors to discuss our exciting plans.”
